Mas Talaya is a 200 year old traditional masia or farmhouse with a red-tiled roof, ancient well and stone walls and climbing bougainvillea typical of Catalonia, in northern Spain.

Masias were, and are still used as farms to live a self-sufficient life in the countryside, and their structure follows the style of Roman-era construction standards.

Mas Talaya is a tastefully renovated villa keeping its original charm with exposed stone, colour washed walls, terra cotta-tiled floors, high vaulted ceilings with hand-hewn exposed beams...but offering all the conveniences for modern comfort.

The villa is 7,600sq.feet/706 sq.metres and can accommodate up to 15 people in six large bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms with several well appointed living and entertaining areas and a large pergola/BBQ area outside.

Ground level
Entrance: Large elegant entrance with original terra cotta barrel vault ceiling and terra cotta tile floors.

Spacious open-plan kitchen: Eating area with a large table, chairs and benches, a sitting area containing a sofa and rocking chairs in front of an open fireplace under a hand-hewn beamed ceiling.

Work area includes a large island bench with plenty of counter space for preparing large meals, gathering for a pre-dinner drink or drop off the groceries.  

The kitchen is fully equipped with two large refrigerators, microwave, a large gas range, a dishwasher, plenty of drawers and cupboard space.
Other amenities include coffee makers, coffee grinder, toasters, blender, plenty of dishes, glasses, mugs, cutlery, large and small pots and frying pans and grills, large and small serving dishes, plastic plates and cups for children to use around the pool, tea towels, hot mitts, trays, etc.

Spacious living room: Sitting area with 2 sofas and chairs, satellite TV and DVD player, table and chairs for playing cards or table games, pool table, and large library with books in English, Spanish and Catalan.

Downstairs Bedroom # 1: Queen Size bed (160 cm / 63 in), table and chairs and 2 large closets, and large en suite bathroom with a tub.

Office: Large table with computer, printer, fax, fast internet, office supplies and two single beds set up with cushions for resting or additional sleeping.

Laundry room: American washer and dryer, laundry baskets, ironing table and iron, laundry soap, cleaning supplies, etc.

Enormous distribution hall: Stunning hand hewn beams, antique furniture and table and chairs.

Master bedroom # 2: King Size bed (180 cm / 71 in), two-seater sofa for reading, table and chair, two walk-in closets, dresser and large en suite bathroom with a tub and double sinks.

Double bedroom # 3: Queen Size bed (160 cm / 63 in), small bathroom with shower and double sinks, closet and dressers.

Double bedroom # 4: Two Single beds (90 cm / 35 in) which can be zipped together to King size (180cm), large closets and dresser, small bathroom with shower and double sinks.

Double bedroom # 5: Queen Size bed (160 cm / 63 in), ample closet space, dresser, antique bread oven (now as decoration), private bathroom with a tub located next to the bedroom.

Double bedroom # 6: Two Single beds (90 cm / 35 in) that can be zipped together into King size (180 cm) plus an extra single and very ample closet space. The bathroom which is just next door includes a bathtub and can be made private by drawing a thick curtain in the hallway just before the room. This room is ideal for adolescents who want to stay up late chatting since it is the furthest from all the other rooms.

Outdoors
Swimming pool (10 x 5 m / 32 x 17 ft): Situated in a very ample garden area with several different sitting areas.

Patio: Table for 14 dining al fresco, BBQ pit, buffet table.

Sports: Table tennis, badminton, bocce (petanque), basketball and soccer field with goalie posts. Equipment supplied.

All windows have screens and bathrooms have hair dryers.
